Bladder Cancer
The bladder is the part of the body where urine is stored, located in the lower part of the abdomen the bladder is made up of muscle tissue. When cells that make up the bladder begin to grow abnormally, bladder cancer can develop. While the exact cause of bladder cancer is not known there are risk factors that should be avoided such as cigarette smoke and certain industrial chemicals. While no symptoms may be present at first signs such as blood in the urine or changes to your individual urinary habits may be signals that something is wrong. Survival rates of bladder cancer are good but early detection, treatment and follow up are very important as this type of cancer once treated does carry a risk of returning.
