Testicular Cancer

The testicles are located beneath the penis in a sac known as the scrotum, these two glands are responsible for the development of the male sex hormone testosterone and the creation of sperm. Testicular cancer is caused when cells within the testicles grow abnormally and out of control. Commonly found in younger men this cancer can affect men of all ages and is commonly associated with the physical finding of a small mass or bump on one or both testicles. Men as early as 15 years of age and on should be performing regular monthly self exams of their testicles and if your family has a history of this cancer you should speak to your doctor about your risk.
